My name is April Westcott. I run an independent ear health practice in Somerset — and I'm glad you've taken a moment to learn more.
Ear care is precise work. It's also surprisingly personal — most of my patients come to me because something has been bothering them for weeks or months, and they want someone who will actually listen before reaching for an instrument.
I trained in microsuction and ear health because I saw a gap between the rushed, time-pressured care many people receive elsewhere and the unhurried, considered service I knew was possible. Every appointment I run is built around three things: looking properly, explaining clearly, and treating gently.
When I'm not in clinic, you'll find me out in the Somerset countryside — which is part of why the stag became my symbol. Watchful, steady, and a fixture of the landscape I call home.
I begin every appointment with a proper otoscopic examination. You'll know exactly what I'm seeing before any treatment begins.
My appointments are unhurried. Some patients need fifteen minutes, some need forty-five — you get the time the work needs.
I'll talk you through findings, options and aftercare in clear English. No jargon, no rushed sign-off.
Microsuction is a skilled procedure that requires correct training, sterile technique and proper equipment. I take all three seriously.
If you have any questions about my training, equipment or insurance before booking, I'm always happy to walk you through it on the phone — just call 07826 247626.
Trained in ear microsuction and otoscopic assessment to current professional standards.
Single-use consumables and rigorous instrument decontamination on every appointment.
Comprehensive professional indemnity and public liability insurance in place.
Ongoing professional development to stay current with best-practice ear care.
My patients aren't appointments. They're people I'll often see year after year — and I want them to leave feeling listened to as much as treated.— April J Westcott
If you'd like to arrange an appointment — at the clinic or in your own home — I'd be glad to hear from you.
